Affected versions

  • Firefox 84
  • Firefox 85.0a1

Affected platforms

  • Windows 7 & 10
  • Ubuntu 20.04
  • macOS 11.1

Steps to reproduce

  1. Launch Firefox
  2. Access this PDF
  3. Press Ctrl+P before the document is loaded

Expected result

  • Print preview is not launched and only the message stating that the document is not loaded is shown, or Print preview is loaded but the message that the document is not loaded is under it.

Actual result

  • The message for the not loaded document is below Print preview and it will stay in a loading loop.

Regression range

  • Will see for a regression if there is one.

Additional notes

  • The issue can be seen in the attachment

Suggested severity

  • S3-S4

Hello! Attaching the regression range with the print preview loaded as expected after the ok button is clicked on the warning message.

on Firefox 52.0a1 (2016-09-30) when clicking print before the PDF loads: print preview preparing message is opened in a new tab and clicking ok on the warning message from the original tab with the PDF, opens print preview with the pdf loaded as expected. This was taken as a good build.

on Nightly 52.0a1 (2016-10-01) (64-bit) when clicking print before the PDF loads: a new tab is opened with Print preview preparing message, and going back to original tab and clicking ok on warning message loads only a white page from the PDF in print preview like in comment 0. This was taken as a bad build

Hey Brendan, can you set a priority and severity on this when you get a chance?

Flags: needinfo?(bdahl)

Changing severity to S? because of work around exists by waiting for PDF to load.

Severity: -- → S3

confirming with Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; Win64; x64; rv:100.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/100.0 Build:20220113093336

unfortunately it is not reproducible with pdf.js running locally on node.js/gulp, as the print preview dialog is not popping up.
