I dont know what happened, but I think I double clicked on the notification icon on the windows system tray. Mail opened up and i cant remember what exactly I did, but the mail window un-maximized itself(restore state). The maximize button is disabled. It stays that way. Cant get it to maximize. It is not minimized. Its just in the "restore" state. I just got the 1.2 A version (full exe) today. Reproducing it was not successful as I am not sure what i did in the first place.
Actually, I was able to reproduce it: Was working in mozilla browser, i got a new mail, so there was that XP style notification. I did NOT click that. After a couple of secs, that XP style notification goes away and a little icon shows up in the systems tray indicating new mail. I double clicked on the system tray icon. This opened up Mail with the maximize button diabled. Also it hid the windows task bar(the same way full screen does it). To get rid of the problem(temporarily, until the above sequence of events happen again), i just restarted Mail/News.
I'm not sure this should be considered major, but yes I can see this using sep12 commercial trunk on win98. The state doesn't seem to clear until you close and reopen the mail window (which would be a fairly easy workaround).

If you can confirm that this report still applies to current SeaMonkey 2.x nightly builds, please set it back to the NEW state along with a comment on how you reproduced it on what Build ID, or if it's an enhancement request, why it's still worth implementing and in what way. If you can confirm that the report doesn't apply to current SeaMonkey 2.x nightly builds, please set it to the appropriate RESOLVED state (WORKSFORME, INVALID, WONTFIX, or similar).
