User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; Win64; x64; rv:84.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/84.0
Steps to reproduce:
Open Options window in normal mode.
I have tried disabling addons one by one and I get the same result. I tried disabling all addons manually and same result. Interestingly I tried running firefox in Safe Mode and that solves the problem.

The memory starts to fill up until firefox eventually crashes. Options page doesn't respond.
Here is the crash report

If you open about:addons, you should have a "Languages" section. Which languages are listed there? Can you verify the version by going into the details?
Disabling/removing/updating language packs should fix the problem, but please check the version before making any change, and copy it somewhere.
Ok thank you that seemed to solve the problem. On the different computers that I have it seems that language packs are used differently. On my Ubuntu Machine it looks like language packs are installed by apt. But on the Windows machines it seems that Language packs are either installed manually or not at all.
On the computer that had the problem 84.0build... was installed. I wasn't able to figure out how to copy it, I just removed it and the options menu worked again.
That Language pack did not seem to affect the dictionary installed. Is that why you said to copy it?

An obsolete language pack can cause this problem, but it should be disabled by default when you update Firefox (if it's incompatible).
84.0build was in the details of the add-on? So far, we've only seen a bunch of bugs related to a specific language pack (for Firefox 77).
Hello Francesco,
My apologies, I was trying to show that the language pack was not the current version of Firefox. It's the only one still available on the Add-On 'store' at 84.0buildid2020122152838. The firefox that I have installed on that machine is 84.0.1
The Language pack is English (CA) Language pack.
There are no newer versions.
I'm assuming that with the holidays a newer language pack wasn't pushed? In looking at the previous versions for firefox there is one for 85, but not one for 84.0.1
It says that the language pack was updated 14 days ago and I'm sure Firefox was updated last week.
