As a (nice to have) follow up to the recent addition of a "Check for updates..." option to the application menus via 1660848 could we adjust the text/behaviour so that we:

  1. Show "restart to apply update" in the event that an update is available + ready to apply.
  2. Trigger the restart directly from the menu in the event a user clicks option #1 above.

Few clicks to update == easier process for users to get to the latest version.
