Like Chromium.
For certain suggestions in Chromium (I am not sure which), users are able to remove the suggestion in the address bar via an "x" icon that appears in the right of the result when it is selected.
Steps to reproduce (in Chromium):
- Navigate to a page, eg: https://www.reddit.com/r/edge/comments/lh6uq0/microsoft_says_it_has_addressed_one_of_the/
- close the tab
- Type a query that will return the page above, eg: "https://www.reddit.com/r/edge/comments/lh6uq0/microsoft_says_it_has_addressed_one_of_the"
- press down and ensure the result is selected
What happens:
A "x" icon appears on the right side of the result. The result is shown as a visited page (has page title on the left of the result, beside the typed address). Hovering over it shows tooltip: "Remove suggestion". Clicking it removes the result. Subsequently typing "https://www.reddit.com/r/edge/comments/lh6uq0/microsoft_says_it_has_addressed_one_of_the/" into the address bar does not show the address as a suggestion.
One interesting feature is that when the suggestion is selected, it is keyboard accessible by pressing Tab
, which highlights the "x". Pressing enter activates the control. Pressing Tab
again moves to the next result, like it does in Firefox.

This is already in the plans, we're waiting for UX spec (more specifically bug 675818 already covers your request)
