RESOLVED DUPLICATE of bug 1334978

People

(Reporter: christopher_lee_1_fan, Unassigned)

Details

User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Ubuntu; Linux x86_64; rv:85.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/85.0

Steps to reproduce:

  1. Change default search engine to DuckDuckGo. Also, check the box for DRM-controlled content playback. And select "Use custom settings for history" and uncheck all four options directly below that.
  2. Log in to Firefox on another device.
  3. Check if the settings above are synced.

Actual results:

Regardless of platform, the above settings aren't synced. Users have to manually change it back each time they log in to a new device.

Expected results:

Regardless of platform, all settings should be synced. That way, when users log in to a new device, they don't have to tinker around with the settings because Firefox isn't doing the syncing 100%.

The Bugbug bot thinks this bug should belong to the 'Firefox::Sync' component, and is moving the bug to that component. Please revert this change in case you think the bot is wrong.

Component: Untriaged → Sync

Thanks for the report. I'm not sure why you would uncheck all the options below that, as that would effectively stop any history syncing - so you are probably better off just disabling history entirely - but you raise a valid point should only some of them be disabled. We are tracking this general functionality in bug 1334978, so I'm going to close this bug as a dupe of that.

Again, thanks for the report!
