Details

User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64; rv:86.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/86.0

Steps to reproduce:

  1. In system with the i3 window manager and multiple monitors, open Firefox 86 (other versions where this happens are the ESR, 78.8 and the developer edition, 87.0b4).
  2. Open any website that allows for screensharing, for example Jitsi Meet (there are public instances at https://meet.jit.si and https://jitsi.riot.im).
  3. Share the screen, the screensharing dialog opens, with a selector with the available options.
  4. Open the selector to see the available options.

Actual results:

The selector lists the windows that are currently open and an option to share the entire screen (spanning across multiple monitors).

Expected results:

The selector lists:

  • The currently opened windows, for example "Firefox", "Libreoffice" and "Keepass".
  • The available monitors (if there are more than one), for example "Laptop screen" and "HDMI".
  • The entire screen.
Component: Untriaged → Widget: Gtk

Blocks: wayland-sway
No longer blocks: wayland

Not clear if this needs to be in this component or it's actually an issue with the WebRTC screen sharing code?
