Details
User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; Intel Mac OS X 10.15; rv:78.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/78.0
Steps to reproduce:
click on "Thunderbird" in the Mac OS menu (top of screen). On drop-down menu, click "About Thunderbird". or, on drop-down menu, click "Preferences"
Actual results:
Nothing. Nothing displayed.
Expected results:
"About Thunderbird" should have displayed a message with the version number and perhaps asked to search for updates. As it is, nothing happened: It should have displayed, but it does not.
"Preferences" should have displayed the preferences that are available from the hamburger menu in the Thunderbird window. It does not.
This has been a problem with Thunderbird for some time now.

Thanks for reporting this. Please see bug 1612456
I have never used a master password on my Thunderbird, but still the "About Thunderbird" and "Preferences" do not appear on the "Thunderbird" MacOS 11 menu item. Moreover I am not on OS 10.14.x but now on MacOS 11.x . So this is not a duplicate. Please re-open.
