There is a new welcome page for EN users that is VPN focused instead of Monitor focused. We'd like to replace the first welcome page for EN users with this page:

I'm filing my first messaging system bug, so let me know what other details I can provide. Since this is replacing a page, rather than adding a new page, I'd like the targeting and trigger to be the same as it is currently.

To add just a little more detail, there are two automated pages that appear for new desktop users. One is focused on Monitor and one is focused on Pocket. We want this VPN page to replace the Monitor page.

All Moments pages were turned off ahead of 89/MR1 in bug 1694704. So unless we're specially turning it on for VPN, this might be WONTFIX for now. I'm not sure if there's a planned time to turn them back on or if we should be removing the functionality.

NI Dan to confirm the ask is for Fx 88, as Ed commented featured is turned off 89 onwards.

Jim T, can you help sort out what and how we're planning to launch the VPN Moments page in EU and EN?

I believe the plan is to launch this moments page in 88 for May. When the calendar turns to June, we pause for the MR1 release (89) and then resume the moments page one week later.

Jim, is that what you thought, too?

Folks, I have to apologize for causing chaos. I wasn't aware of some agreements between marketing and product on how this rolls out.

So the actual AND ONLY request for now:

• As soon as possible, publish the moments page for FR and DE (links in comment 7). These will use the same targeting as the "first" moments page in EN.
• Stop sending traffic to the pages before June 1 (MR 1 launch).
• Resume sending traffic to the EU pages beginning the week of June 7.

For now, we will not send traffic to the EN page.

The EN (WNP_MOMENTS_10) moments record has been deleted

We originally assumed moments pages would not run 89+, so now potentially the moments page will be shown in a new tab then the MR1 upgrade dialog will open up.

andreio did add a targeting attribute for major update in bug 1705191, but that doesn't actually help here as moments pages are triggered before restarting to show at the beginning of the next launch before upgrade dialog decides it should show.
