User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.0; en-US; rv:1.0.1) Gecko/20020826 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.0; en-US; rv:1.0.1) Gecko/20020826 When opening a file local to the system (e.g. file://C:/Movies/quicktime.mov), Mozilla attempts to download the file. This effectively copies the file to a new location and delays the launch of the appropriate plug-in/helper application. By the way, this is true on both Linux and Windows platforms. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.Find a file via file:///<path to file> 2.Double-click on it 3.Choose the appropriate launch application (if not already specified in preferences). Actual Results: Mozilla copies the file to a new location (/tmp on Linux) before opening it. Expected Results: Just launched the appropriate application.
