Steps to reproduce:
Enable menubar.
Click on different menu items (File, Edit, View, etc.)

The File and View menus have a large gap between the menu-frame and text while the others do not.
Expected results:
There should be no extra spacing between the text and the menu-frame

The Bugbug bot thinks this bug should belong to the 'Firefox::Menus' component, and is moving the bug to that component. Please revert this change in case you think the bot is wrong.

Hi Jack,
Are you referring to the gap to the left of the text?

Hi Jack,
Are you referring to the gap to the left of the text?
Yes. This gap only exists under File and View for some reason, and looks odd next to the other menus.

Do you not also see it under the Bookmarks menu?

(Apologies - I don't have my Windows 10 machine set up at the moment, so posted that screenshot from my Windows 7 VM)
Nope, bookmarks menu appears fine.

The gap is there to accommodate checkmarks. It is only there in menus that have checkmarks. This includes the file menu (for "work offline" which is a checkable item) and not in e.g. the bookmarks menu (which doesn't have any checkable items).
