Some pages load twice if you select the menu: View->Character Coding->Auto-Detect->Chinese A test case is this page: 1. go to www.gamespot.com 2. click on "News" on top of the page: 3. click on "PC" in this paragraph: Read News: ALL | CONSOLE | PC | XBOX | PS2 | GC | GBA 4. the page load twice 5. click on "XBOX" 6. the page load twice 7. etc To solve the bug, use this menu: View->Character Coding->Auto-Detect->(Off) I think this bug have been filled also as: Bug #88701, Bug #99981 and Bug #77702 but none of the above bugs mention the Charset problem and are not in the I18n category.

Tested on BuidID: 2002091014 (Mozilla 1.2a)

I can confirm that I see this bug on 1.4 when I have auto detect / Japanese sleected. I actually see it pretty consistently when loading pages in Bugzilla. Problem seems to be solved when turning off auto detect.
