On Mac (others?) it's hard to tell if the front/back buttons are enabled. I imagine it's even worse for anyone with significant visual impairments (older users, excessive light or glare conditions, etc).

Comparing both the standard and high contrast mode toolbars, Firefox 108 seems to be consistent with Mac OS system contrast between active and inactive states for the button icons.
