While bug 1610629 is seeking for a final solution we should get the immediate problem fixed for the 0.30.0 release of geckodriver.
This is a regression that we shipped in 0.29.1 and is caused by bug 1680407.

The changes on this bug actually conflict with the patch on bug 1721447. Marking it as dependency.

We have made progress on bug 1610629. As it looks like this might be get landed soon, I'll stop any work on this bug given that bug 1610629 is the cleaner way in doing it.
Raising severity to S2 because there is currently no workaround on Windows to run tests on an Android device / emulator.

I've asked the reporter if he can try out the nightly build of geckodriver and check if it now works. Lets wait until the reply or early next week before closing this bug.
