I've noticed this on my copy of Firefox Beta (92) that I have on my Mac Mini. When I'm watching Netflix on it, during the last few minutes of a show, the video frames will suddenly stop updating for a few seconds, so the video looks frozen. Audio, however, continues to play. This lasts for 2-5 seconds, and then suddenly the video un-freezes and jumps ahead to where the audio is. It's pretty jarring.
I experience this pretty consistently on Netflix. I haven't noticed it on other platforms yet.

Any sense for whether this is a regression? I'm assuming you've tried the standard ruling out of add-ons and profiles, yes?

Hey jbauman,
Sorry for the really long delay on this. I was able to rule out add-ons by reproducing it reliably in Troubleshooting Mode. I also managed to capture a profile when the pause occurred:

There appears to be a flurry of network activity, and some JS waking up in both the parent and content process to deal with it. Nothing else really jumps out at me though. Do you see anything that might explain it?

Hi, Mike,
Could you still reproduce this issue on the latest Nightly? If so, could you help me use Firefox profiler again and make sure you use Media
preset?
Thank you.

Setting to Performance - : Seems like an issue which should re-enter the Media triage queue due to lost frames
