"Remove quoting characters" in Message Compose Menu This would be a menu item under "Options" and below "Rewrap" that would remove the (most common) quoting characters, such as ">", " " (spaces), "\t". This would be awesome for forwarding those jokes with a bazillion ">>>" in them. It would also eliminate the need for 3rd-party programs (like "eClean, http://www.jd-software.com/eClean2000/index.html). The algorithm could (should?) be similar to that of eClean. Perhaps (later?), there could a pref to add/edit forwarding characters. Suggested UI in Message Compose menu: ... | Format | Options | Tools | ... +---------+-----------------+ | Select Address... | | Quote Message | | Rewrap | | Remove quoting characters | <-- add this feature :) |---------------------------| | ... |

Reasonable suggestion, confirming. This new function would fit into the edit menu and only there. Rewrap is wrongly placed in the options menu, there is a bug about it and J. Glick was asked to look into it, so it might be fixed RSN. pi

We're already removing quite characters and using grey bars when displaying the message. You can easily copy it and re-paste it to remove the quotation. You should maybe make eClean as an extension. WONTFIX.
