[Description:]
Refers to the lack of "application details" dropdown for a content type that has a default application.
[Environment:]
Windows 10
96.0a1 2021-11-12
94.0.1
[Steps:]
- Download a docx from https://filesamples.com/formats/docx#google_vignette
- Wait for download to finish.
- Right click on the downloaded file and select "Always Open Similar Files"
- Navigate to about:preferences / Applications and verify the options for the newly added mime type.
- Add a new application for the docx content type (e.g. notepad)
[Actual Result:]
Similar to the behavior on Mac(94, 96), on Fx 96 the options for the docx mime type will not show the "application details" for only the default application.
5. Adding the Notepad as an Action Application will enable the "application details", but for the newly added Notepad.
[Expected Result:]
In Fx 94, the "application details" would've been available for the default "wordpad" in this example.
[Note:]
This seems like an intended change aligning Mac and Windows (haven't tested at this point on Ubuntu), so it can be that the original Windows behavior might've been a bug.: wouldn't hurt a confirmation.
