Looks like characters are getting saved w/o ascii offsets, e.g. "a" is showing up as ^@ when I look at the file in emacs

Saving to files is screwed up: see 15674. If you can reproduce this with Debug->Output HTML in the editor, then un-dup it and assign it to me, but I haven't seen any problems with Output HTML. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of 15674 ***
