With dark system theme the TB toolbar has a different background colour than the tab. This comes from the removed background image in bug 1736437.

Good catch.
I see from your screenshot that the first tab has the top-left rounded border.
Would you be able to override that if the spaces toolbar is used? We have a [spacestoolbar] attribute in the :root element for that.
