Expected:
Spinner rotates

Actual:
Spinner rotates but with a ghost square border around.

Notes:

  • it doesn't happen on Blink and WebKit.
  • This is not a regression. it happens at least on Firefox 80.

This sounds like bug1671784 but I could be wrong

Glenn, do you agree that this is indeed a duplicate of the aforementioned report (1671784)? It DOES appear to be to me as well, but I'd like your opinion.

Can't say conclusively without investigating, but I would agree that it's very likely to be a duplicate with the same root cause.

This did not get fixed by bug 1671784.
