Details

User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; Intel Mac OS X 10.15; rv:98.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/98.0

Steps to reproduce:

N/A

Actual results:

Request for more app availability in instant messaging, like Signal, WhatsApp, Messenger, and others.

Expected results:

N/A

Thanks for filing this request! I'm going to close it, however, as the requested protocols all use proprietary APIs (or do not allow third-party clients) and our intention is to support open standards in Thunderbird.

Hopefully Thunderbird will support chat protocols via extensions again in the future (I think this is currently blocked by bug 1227973).

Additionally, please file separate bugs for separate feature requests (adding just a single one of those protocols would be a tremendous amount of work, so keeping them separate is ideal).
