  • latest Nightly 101.0a1

Affected platforms

  • Win 11 x64
  • macOS 11
  • Ubuntu 18.04 x64

Steps to reproduce

  1. Launch Firefox (I've used a FR locale build).
  2. Navigate to about:preferences, Languages section.
  3. Change the language to Deutsch.
  4. Click on the App Menu an observe the translation for the "Sign in" button.
  5. Navigate to any website, and click on the shield icon from URL; observe the translation for the ETP heading title.
  6. Click on the AppMenu -> More tools.

Expected result

  • Step 4, 5, 6: The strings are translated into german.

Actual result

  • Step 4, 5, 6: The strings remained in the original language, in this case, french. They are not translated into german, as can be seen below:

Regression range

  • Not a regression.

Additional notes

  • It could happen with other major languages, these have been the ones that have shown problems so far: Deutsch, Italiano, Espanol.
  • Also, other areas from Firefox could be affected, we'll update the bug if that would be the case.
