RESOLVED DUPLICATE of bug 135636

People

(Reporter: pschoenb, Unassigned)

Details

User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; Win64; x64; rv:100.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/100.0

Steps to reproduce:

  1. Enable mail encryption by default.
    2 Compose a new message.
  2. No matching key for the mail recipient exists.

Actual results:

TB refuses to send the message until you disable the encryption manually.

Expected results:

At least a further option would be needed that allows to enable encryption by default, but that sends the mail unencrypted without complaining if no matching key exists. The old Enigmail addon also worked that way.

The current "encrypt by default" is pretty unusable in real use, as almost no one has only recipients that can receive encrypted mail.
