how about a special mouse icon when over a link that will open a new window (or
tab when bug 105547 will be fixed) when clicked.

A hand symbol with a "+" sign would be sufficient to indicate that the link has
as target: "_blank" or with any custom-name that would make mozilla open a new
browser window or change the focus to a different one (like it would do when
clicking on a link with a custom target name, while a window with a frame with
this name is already open in background).

What a brillant idea!
I'd really like to see this implemented.
Would have posted it here immediately if I'd though of it ;-)
