Sister to bug 1771604, and perhaps as a consequence, some menu bar items relevant to address book are missing or not functioning when using address book in tab.
Also, toolbar items generally are not scoped to address book. In version 91 we had "delete contact" on the toolbar which is now missing.
For example:
- Edit > Remove Contact (had been delete contact in previous versions) - is greyed out even when a contact is selected
- Edit > Find > Search exists and so the shortcut (ctrl+shift+K) is now mapped to messages, and not available to search contacts
- Edit > contact properties and ctrl+I is missing (there is a Properties menu item but it is greyed out - mapped to folders perhaps? I can't tell)
These are just some examples. Note, these like the items in bug 1771604 are version 101 or earlier, so predate Bug 1762127 - Tear down the old Address Book UI which happened in v102

The Edit
and Write
buttons shouldn't be on the main toolbar, as well as the Delete Contact
.
That UX solution we've been carrying around since forever is just not good UX.
Edit
and Write
are now in context when you select a contact (we're working on the multiple contact selection).
Delete Contact
should be in the context menu of the item with the Del
shortcut working.
Everything else will be fixed.
