helper app's cannot take command line arguments

There doesn't seem to be any way to specify command line arguments for helper apps. Netscape used to support %s and %u (filename and url), and allowed arguments for called apps. Eg: /usr/frame/bin/fmclient -f %s Is the command line for calling frame maker to view a document. Entering "/usr/frame/bin/fmclient -f" doesn't work either (I am guessing the whole line is exec'ed, hence causing a file not found error). I think this probably happens on all *nix's. I have found this on IRIX, using Mozilla 1.0.1.

Also, the helper app's names should have whitespace stripped off each end, as this causes them to fail also.
