Steps to reproduce:

Menu: History > Clear Recent History , then click "OK" button.

Actual results:

Firefox hangs and does nothing. The "Clear Recent History" dialog popup remains open, does not close. Clicking "OK" / "Cancel" does nothing, does not respond.

Sometimes closes dialog by unchecking options (eg: "Site Settings", "Cache", "Cookies"), sometimes not. Can't restart using menu > File > Exit (because dialog/popup is still open), have to kill the Firefox process.

Expected results:

"Clear Recent History" dialog popup should close.

The Bugbug bot thinks this bug should belong to the 'Toolkit::Data Sanitization' component, and is moving the bug to that component. Please correct in case you think the bot is wrong.

If you leave the browser open in this frozen state for longer, does it eventually finish and close the dialog?
I'm curious if you might have a very old profile with a lot of data stored. Could you try to create a separate Firefox profile via about:profiles and see if data clearing works properly there?

Closing this bug, we could not reproduce it and the reporter is unresponsive for some time now.
