Firefox 105.0a1

Affected versions

Firefox 104.0a1, 105.0a1

Affected platforms

macOS 11.6
Windows 10
Ubuntu 20

Preconditions

In about:config set:
"browser.theme.colorway-closet" to true
"browser.tabs.firefox-view" to true

Steps to reproduce

  1. Open "Colorways closet" from Fxview or from about:addons
  2. Select a colorway and an intensity
  3. Close the browser without setting the colorway
  4. Open firefox with the same profile

Expected result

Since the modal triggers an “auto-apply” behavior, the colorway will save if the user exits the browser prior to “setting a colorway”. Opening a new browser session would surface the most recent colorway the user engaged with in the modal.

Actual result

The colorway previewed in step 2 is not applied in step 4.

Regression range

Will search for a regression range as soon as possible. For the moment, I can reproduce this behavior in all Fx versions tested so far.

So, it's a happy coincidence that this works. We didn't expect it to work, and therefore didn't make it a requirement, but I don't think it working this way presents a problem.

Definitely a happy coincidence! This is how we actually wanted it to work.
