(Whiteboard: [closeme 2023-02-25])

User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; Intel Mac OS X 10.15; rv:105.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/105.0

Steps to reproduce:

After the address book and lookup issues of v102 were seemingly solved I returned from v91 and reinstalled 102.3. The lookup was better, but some addresses were missing after sync and many others were doubled – the "second"s always had a local time label added.

Actual results:

I dumped the CardDAF subscription and loaded it again.
Now seemingly all addresses were added, only once - but lookup in an email doesn't find them. Neiter first, nor second name. And - as before - the names I need most frequently.

Expected results:

lookup should find the existing addresses.

The extension Provider für CalDAV & CardDAV worked well - TB who took over, does not.

Summary: 102.3.1 contact lookup not working → 102.3.1 contact lookup not working (again)
Summary: 102.3.1 contact lookup not working (again) → 102.3.1 contact lookup (again/still) not working

In Bug 1782692 (solved), in case of occurring problems we were asked to report a new bug. Here it is.
Now it seems lookup is broken completely, no contacts turn up whatsoever.

Component: Untriaged → Address Book

Felix, still having problems? Current release version is TB 102.7.1.

(In reply to Felix Tymcik from bug 1782692 comment #22)

Everything works for me (Mac OS 10.15.7) since 102.3.x, you have to reload your contacts and name (again) the default address book source.

Felix, it is difficult to provide assistance to abandoned bug reports.

I'm sorry. As a mediocre user without programmer's expertise, I had to move on.
I found a thread where someone claimed that a newer version works. I followed that thread and after someone confirmed it, I installed it, deleted all actual data, retrieved an older, working database, added by hand the missing new ones I kept in a text file, merged two sources and spent hours deleting a few hundred doublettes.
Sorry for not reporting on this - albeit strenuous - success.
As far as I remember my clean up action was still within the 102.3's or early ff's and it works since, I'm using 102.10.1 by now.
Thank you for your expertise and engagement!
