Steps to reproduce:
Hi
The new version of the addressbook (version 102) no longer seems to report the number of entries in a list.
It is often quite useful to know this.
This is a regression.

I'll take this as it's part of the work I'm doing to polish the new address book and bring it to completion.
The number of contacts is currently displayed at the bottom, but an inline number (just like the old XUL tree) it's already available in the code of the new treelistbox, it's simply not exposed here.
I'll add an option to show/hide that.

This works for me on both beta 109 and 102.6.1. But I don't find when it got fixed,
Thomas do you agree?

Not really. Looking at Alex' comment 1 and the Windows Live Mail screenshot on the support question, what we want to do here is providing an option where the total number of contacts for each AB/mailing list is shown inline with its name in the directory pane, like Windows Live Mail does. I am not seeing that feature in TB 91, so this looks like an RFE.

Btw, imo it would also be nice to display the number of contained contacts of a mailing list in its display pane (when list is selected in middle column, and contained contacts show up on the right).

What we want to do here: Total number of contacts shown inline with directory item names in Windows Live Mail (vs. Thunderbird)

Redirecting this to Micah since he's implementing an identical solution in bug 1817917 for the folder pane.
This has a lower priority than the folder pane.
