Details

This tracks bugs which allow the user to change the user interface without changing the underlying skin. These are generally simpler to do than editing XUL/CSS, but also allow customisation of a skin on a read-only drive, and allow easy restoration to previous behaviour since the skin in untouched. Examples of soft UI changes already in the product include View > Sidebar and View > Toolbars > ... .

Adding tree widget soft UI changes, I'm assuming these are persistent ... For anyone interested, "soft ui changes" don't include things like bug #17920, since that is just editing a data source (bookmarks), rather than the UI for displaying data as such. So deleting a message is not a soft UI change, but changing the columns that display for each is ...
