The message header in macOS dark mode comes out with a light background.
This is the culprit: https://searchfox.org/comm-central/rev/456fdfa2088060882f6fac0e4e34913b1359926b/mail/themes/osx/mail/messageWindow.css#51-54
It seems that the --toolbar-bgcolor
doesn't inherit the proper update in the new about3Pane.

The problem is that the message header is now inside of the <browser> of the new about3pane and all the root:-moz-lwtheme
, root[lwt-tree]
etc. aren't propagated into it. All we could do now is steering this with the @media (prefers-color-scheme
queries.
