I guess I have the same bug. After switching focus to some other app I often see a black screen instead of my page when I return back to the Firefox mobile app. Xiaomi Mi 11 lite NE. I disabled battery optimization for Firefox. It didn't help. It happens ~every third time I use the browser. Multiple times a day. Extremely annoying.

I experienced the same issue on Android Nightly, Samsung S9. It happens quite infrequently and I'm right now not able to trigger it, but it has been happening for some months.

I was not able to reproduce it with Nightly 116.0a1 from 7/4, nor with RC 115.0.
I've tested with Xiaomi Mi8 Lite (Android 10), and Google Pixel 6 (Android 13).
Dennis, could you retest please? With the latest builds of Firefox for Android?

Hi,
Unfortunately, I don't yet have the RC 115.0 version.
I have the Firefox Browser ver. 114.2.0 and I see no option to update it from the Play Market yet.
As for the bug, only one condition is left when I can reproduce it on my ver. 114.2.0.
- I should open the web app that is installed on the home screen using Firefox's "Install" feature.
- Then go to the home screen (so minimize the web app I just opened)
- Wait for a while. I tried opening other apps in the meantime or just lock the screen and wait ~10 min. Both worked for triggering the bug.
- Open this web app again and see the black screen.
For the test I used Pinterest.com web app.
Xiaomi Mi 11 Lite 5G NE. MIUI 14.0.2. Android 13.
I wasn't able to reproduce it anymore with the Firefox browser itself (without the web app installed using "Install" feature) no matter if I open the web app or the normal web page. Even with the Pinterest itself I can't reproduce the bug until I "Install" it to the home screen.
Also I wasn't able to reproduce it with websites added to the Home screen using "Add to Home screen" feature.
So there is definitely some progress there. Thanks. Please, keep it up.

The bug happened again for me and I was able to reproduce it three times, but not more.
- Open the bank norwegian app, select land Germany, select start
- A Firefox Nightly WebView opens showing a register form requiring a mobile phone number
- Go to home screen, open OneNote and type a couple of characters
- Go back to the webview to find it grey and unresponsive
- You can open the tab in nightly and it still is unresponsive
This, however, didn't work when opening the WebView first in nightly and then navigating to OneNote. The tab was grey but Nightly triggered a reload.
I'm on Nightly version 117.0a1 (Build #2015963107) and as my power was on 15%, battery savings mode was active.
