Version: 111.0b2

Steps to reproduce:

  1. Select 1 message in message list.
=> As expected: That message is displayed in message area.
  2. Select another message, with Shift+Click or Shift+Cursor.
=> As expected: Message view shows (e.g.) "2 conversations" as the title, a preview of each conversations, and the sentence "These messages take up ... kB" at the bottom.
  3. Press Ctrl-A.
=> a) As expected: All messages are selected in message list.
=> b) - Expected: Message view now shows Conversations summary of all messages.
    - Actual: Message view is not updated.
OS: Windows 10 → Linux

I can confirm it's still there on daily.

does it work as expected in 102?

If you really did use ctrl+A, there is a limit imposed on what is presented in the message pane.

does it work as expected in 102?

Yes, works fine in TB 102.9.0 with over 2000 messages.

If you really did use ctrl+A, there is a limit imposed on what is presented in the message pane.

There were only ~ 50 messages in the inbox of the account where I use the beta.

This ux-mode-error could even end up as dataloss.
Select five threads first, then press Ctrl+A. Get interrupted by the postman. Return and look at the preview, which (due to this bug) still claims "5 conversations". Delete. Boom - all conversations gone! But wait a minute, didn't it say I had only selected five?

Yes.

Yes, but the conversations view was correctly updated in 102, message pane header shows full number of conversations, and there's a correct note at the bottom of the preview:

These messages take up 109 MB. (Note: 232 threads are selected, the first 100 are shown)

Summary: Overview of multiple selected messages not updated when selecting all with Ctrl-A → Message pane doesn't show/update conversations overview when selecting all messages with Ctrl+A (shows stale preview of previous selection instead)

Also fixes the select all header button, and a bit of tidying up.
