User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; Win64; x64; rv:109.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/111.0
Steps to reproduce:
- User has 10 different working email accounts, running the beta channel releases
- Enabled Unified Folders view
- Next to "Select the folders to search" click Choose...
- Select the Inbox of each account
- Update and apply changes
- Thunderbird works and reports emails correctly
- Update is released, application has update applied and restarts
Unified Inbox is showing, but only is applied against 4 of 10 accounts
Actual results:
After every update each email account's inbox has to be re-added to the Unified Inbox.
Even after following these instructions listed here https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1300055 (deleting 'smart mailboxes' folder & virtualFolders.dat)
Following these instructions does fix it by adding all inboxes to the Unified Inbox.
But after each update, the inboxes have to be added back.
Expected results:
Adding each of the 10 email account's inboxes to the Unified Inbox should be retained until manually changed by the user.

These are POP3 accounts, not IMAP

User Agent Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64; rv:112.0) Gecko/20100101 Thunderbird/112.0
I'm seeing the same or very similar behaviour on Linux with the 112 beta.
I have 2 accounts (both IMAP, one dovecot, one DavMail).
After an upgrade in the 112.0b* series, only the first account is selected under any of the unified folders.
I have to go back in and manually add the 2nd account to Inbox, Drafts, Sent, Junk & Deleted.

Do you still see this with version 113.0b3?

(In reply to Wayne Mery (:wsmwk) from comment #3)
Do you still see this with version 113.0b3?
Installed 113.0b4 this morning (just back from leave) and am seeing the same behaviour (dialog has changed slightly?)
Only one "search" folder ticked after upgrading version of Thunderbird.
Cheers,
Carl.

Sorry Wayne, I'm not sure what you're after? I reported back that Linux 113.0b4 was affected, and can now report the same behaviour in b5 & b6.
I've just added an image of what I see post-upgrade. Pre-upgrade 2 folders are noted as chosen.

Do you recall whether the problem occurred in version 102?

Sorry Wayne, nothing 100% definitive, but I didn't notice any problems prior to 112. From my command line history, it looks like I was on 107.0b3 prior to upgrading to 112.0b3

My computer that has my 113.0b install is in storage presently due to a move. I'll see if I can dig it out and hook it up to test. No promises though.

Looks like it's not the upgrade of versions that causes the loss of folder search info in unified versions.
The configuration doesn't survive a (controlled) restart of thunderbird, even without the upgrade.
The behaviour is consistent in 113.0b6 & 114.0b1

Nick, Carl,
Do you still see this in the latest beta?

Wayne, many thanks, definitely working in 116.0b3 and from memory I think 115.0b6 looked good as well!
