Steps to reproduce:

  1. Open Thunderbird to a folder we'll call F and do not select any message in the message list
  2. Without selecting a message, scroll so that the most recent message is not in view
  3. Either open a separate Thunderbird instance or another mail client with the same account
  4. Delete a message in folder F

If https://phabricator.services.mozilla.com/D180467 is not in the tree, the most recent message in the folder will be rendered into one of the rows in view, even though it should not be in view. If the patch has been merged, the most recent message will be selected and scrolled into view.

I can no longer reproduce this in trunk.
