Steps to reproduce:
Use View -> Font Size -> Increase Font Size a number of times to make the font larger. I am using Compact density if that matters. Then focus the message list and use the up arrow until the list scrolls a bit. Then use the down arrow repeatedly, or the End key, to select the last message in the list.
Actual results:
The list does not scroll far enough that the selected message is visible in the list (in fact, the last few rows of the list are still off the bottom).
Expected results:
The list should have scrolled so the selected message is visible.

Exploring this a little further it seems to kick in quite abruptly.
Increase font size 7 times: no real issue
Increase font size 8 times: the selected message sits just below the scrolling pane
Increase font size 9 times: ~5 messages sit below the scrolling pane
Increase font size 10 times: ~7 messages sit below the scrolling pane
So to reproduce, be sure to increase font size at least 8 times!

I tested this bug in 115.2.0 in macOS 13.5 and can confirm this is a bug.
On my Daily installation, which I've updated as far as I am able to 119.0a1 (2023-09-05), this is fixed. I think we need to uplift the fix to 115. I don't know what patch fixed this bug, however.
In my testing:
- Using the Thunderbird menu, I increased font size from 11px to 20px. (This setting is in sync with the Increase Font Size setting.)
- In 115.2.0: Using keyboard scrolling alone with the down key, I am not able to see the active message highlighted and visible at the bottom of the list. If I use a mouse, I can scroll to the bottom of the list.
- In 119.0a1: I can keyboard scroll to the bottom using the down key.
Update: Leaving this open so we can identify the fixed patch and make sure this gets uplifted to ESR 115, if possible.
