Details

User-Agent:       Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.3a) Gecko/20021216
Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.3a) Gecko/20021216

After a reinstall of a nightly Mozilla build, Mozilla restarts and everything
functions well. The problem occurs, though, when I close Mozilla and restart it
after the install. After the reinstall, it will simply render the splash screen
without doing anything else. If I examine the basic process information for
Mozilla during the error, it shows it uses basically zero system resources. This
has happened before with previous nightly builds; I do not know why. I can
reinstall a newer nightly build and it still occurs.

***To remedy this problem, I simply rename my %HOMEPATH%\Application
Data\Mozilla directory to a new name; everything functions correctly after that.***

This is similar to these bugs; however, this bug happens in the Win32
environment instead of the MacOS environment.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Use a Mozilla nightly build.
2. Wait a few days until a new nightly becomes available.
3. Install a new nightly; Mozilla should restart and work fine for a while.
4. Close Mozilla.
5. Try to restart Mozilla; it won't load.
Optional:
6. Restart the machine; it won't help either.

Actual Results:
Mozilla decided to hang and not start.

Expected Results:
Started as normal.

This error has occured for me while using numerous nightly builds from 2002-10-1
-> 2002-12-16.

Whether it is worth noting or not, I have used a couple of themes from mozdev;
particularly, I use Orbit.
do this :
close mozilla (including quicklaunch)
locate your profile in your OS user directory and
delete profile\xul.mfl

if you still see the hang delete all files in profile\chrome\*.*
(this will delete third-party Themes)
Thanks for your response !
