Build is on Dec 23rd, 2002. When I delete a message, either using the [delete] key or the delete button on the toolbar, the message currently highlighted is deleted and the next message is highlighted. However, as soon as the previous message disappears the next message is unselected and a blank window is shown in place of where the message headers and message body would normally have been shown. I'm using delete immediately with an imap server. I don't see any JS messages on the JS console. Using 'n' to go to the next message works as expected.

This does not happen with local folders.

bienvenu tells me he sees this on windows, which means I have better chance of fixing it. accepting, looking into this as soon as my build finishes.

I see it, and I'm looking into it.

a possibly related bug is the stand alone msg window. I can only delete one message, and then I get: WARNING: Last delete did not complete, file c:/trees/trunk/mozilla/mailnews/base /src/nsMsgDBView.cpp, line 2300

I also see that error in the 3 pane, when I try to delete local mail.
