These are usually advert sites which are providing images and banners on the sites I have visited. Examples that I can currently see in my history include: media.fastclick.net ad.doubleclick.net ar.atwola.com a.tribalfusion.com sfads.osdn.com ads.ad-flow.com Sites such as this should not be included in the history as it has never been my intention to visit them (nor will it ever be). Only sites which I have access by: 1. Clicking a link 2. Typing a URL in the location bar 3. Selecting a bookmark 3. Opening a webloc file in the Finder etc should appear in the history. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. 2. 3.

Is this really a dupe? Bug 183935 is about importing bookmarks, whereas this bug is about the behaviour of the history under general browsing conditions.
Agreed, not a dup.

This is a tough one, because it's going to be very hard to tell 'unwanted' URLs from 'wanted' URLs. You'll have to take redirects, framesets, popups etc into account.

Bug 183935 is about History in general: Importing and Navigation (see ADGate part).
WFM Camino 2004121208 (v0.8+), Mac OS X 10.3.6 The drawer is long gone and AFAICT URLs for ad-server sites don't show up in the new History section of the Bookmarks Manager. I visited a range of sites that serve ads and ads via iframes and only the urls of the visited sites themselves appeared in History. Wincent, do you still see this? If so, is there a specific URL? Otherwise, I will close this bug WFM.
Indeed, my history is clean of everything from doubleclick to google adsense to more genereal non-ad individual parts of framesets ->WFM
