Many times, i am getting scanned images that cound not fit in my screen
(1024x768) because these are at least greater than 2000x1500... So i imagine a
new add in the image context menu : an option to :
- fit image to screen
- fit image to print
with an automatic update in the layout !
Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:

for fit to printer, use page setup/shrink to fit to page width
for fit to screen, get a newer mozilla :)

Now i have onstall the last build :
Mozilla 1.3b : Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.0; en-US; rv:1.3b)
Gecko/20030125
And i still have few comments :
- in the moz browser, i still don't an entry for an switchable option : fit to
window (for all images )
- in moz mail, i don't have this functionnality : image can not be fit to window
at all !!!
- The resized image is just croppped vertically and horizontally and it looks
dirty : have u already used an image library ? or phtosdhop ! look at the new
attchment !
- small images (100x50, 300x200, 500x400) can not be extended to fit in window,
and still no option in the menu !!
- The Image's preferences could be more sophisticated ... : auto-fit, a hand
cursor to makes move the screen automatically like photoshop, ...
- It could be interesting to put an external editor for images that could be set
up in preferences to edit images with a right click context's menu.

Hi, i don't know how to do now : i have a new bug i think :
- when i use the context menu on image attachments on moz mail, it opens
sometimes a new window or it recycles a window already open like a dictator
and it kills active requests or other pages :
i am surfing with a lot of windows and i switch on it when it is ready : up to
20 windows !
and i don't like that my windows are controled strangly !
Besides, it leads to kill or confuse all requests and i needed to kill every
windows not to be "lack" : no response with "time elapsing" cursor on mouse and
no gui events !!!
PS : Is GUI based on java ? i could help if so ...

And i made again the test : when opening web pages and mail images, leads to some
confusing window problem ... not responding !!
so i need to kill windows to be able to open new ones ....

>- in the moz browser, i still don't an entry for an switchable option : fit to
>window (for all images )
Preferences/Appearance/[ ] Enable Automatic Image Resizing
>- in moz mail, i don't have this functionnality : image can not be fit to
>window at all !!!
I guess the above preference affects this too, but if not, file a new bug please.
>- The resized image is just croppped vertically and horizontally and it looks

The attachment shows no resizing of an image. It looks like the image is
displayed just normally.
>- small images (100x50, 300x200, 500x400) can not be extended to fit in window,
>and still no option in the menu !!
Not sure why you would want to make small images larger, but I guess you should
file a new bug if you really want that and cc varga@netscape.com.
>- The Image's preferences could be more sophisticated ... : auto-fit,
See the preference that I mentioned above.
> a hand
>cursor to makes move the screen automatically like photoshop, ...
No idea what you want.
>- It could be interesting to put an external editor for images that could be
>set up in preferences to edit images with a right click context's menu.
maybe but that's another bug.
>PS : Is GUI based on java ? i could help if so ...
No. UI of Mozilla is written in JavaScript and XUL (mostly), backend is in C++.
I don't understand your window problem, but that's another bug too.

with a 1280x1024 screen if resized to fit in window !!!

No idea what you want.
>- look at the attachement to navigate in the full-size image without using the
scrollbars but just the left button of mouse and moves to move the image !!!!
like photoshop !
>- It could be interesting to put an external editor for images that could be

maybe but that's another bug.
>-- I don't think a bug it is, but an add in preferences and in context menus....

Automatic image sizing has been checked in and it works quite well.
There is also a meta bug for additional improvements and bug fixes - bug 190545.
Most of your complaints are included there.
Marking as a dupe of bug 73322.
