Mozilla 1.3beta/Linux-i686.
When trying to install xpi file using network installation, I get confirmation
dialog, and then installation dialog. However, the progress bars are not moving,
despite network monitor showing download activity. This activity end after a
while, the dialog just stays there and you actually have to kill mozilla to get
rid of it.
Repeatable: always.
This is not happening in 1.3a
Also got confirmation from Biesi/#mozilla that it happens for him under Windows.
He's using something between 1.3a and 1.3b.

I was using a build from about a week ago.
also, if it is not clear, the XPI from the above URL is meant.

We've been seeing the same thing with 1.3b builds.
In addition to that the InstallTrigger.install method seems to be affected. When
downloading multiple XPIs it just silently dies. I saw it waiting on the XPI
certificate in the debugger. The certificate just never arrives due to this
hanger...

Seems like the original checkin on January 17 for bug 176919 is the root cause
for this issue.
I can't pinpoint the exact location and don't have conclusive evidence, I did
confirm however that the problem started occurring after January 17. The change
in bug 176919 is the most likely candidate for the XPI hangers we have been
seeing with 1.3b.
Depends on: 176919

Ok, I think it's time to nominate this as a 1.3final blocker.

Oops, that was supposed to be "?", not "+".

Darin, can you look at this and see if your work at bug 176919 is responsible?

I'd say this is blocking given the popularity of themes and other mozdev add-ons.

WFM using a debug linux build from CVS (a few days old); however, my build
includes my patch for bug 193267. i wonder if that could have fixed this. at
any rate, i was able to successfully install enigmail. i'm going to try today's
nightly build to see what happens there.
