When saving a file containing non-ascii characters, the Save As dialog does not suggest a filename, i.e. the filename field of the Save As dialog is empty. Steps to reproduce: 1. Receive mail containing two attached files called "foobar.gif" and "foobär.gif" (the last name has an umlaut over the a). 2. Right-click on the files in the attachment pane one at a time and select "Save As ..." Actual results: When saving "foobar.gif" the filename field in the Save As dialog is prefilled with "foobar.gif". When saving "foobär.gif" the filename field in the Save As dialog is empty. Expected results: When saving "foobär.gif" the filename field should be prefilled with "foobär.gif". Using Moz 1.3a.

BTW, this happens when saving from both IMAP and local folders.

Exactly the same problem when saving files. Using Moz 1.3b (Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.0; en-US; rv:1.3b) Gecko/20030210)

Christian Schmidt (or anyone else who's seen this) -- is this bug still a problem with current versions of Mozilla? I'm getting a suggested filename correctly in 1.6 and 1.7b.

This does indeed seem to work in Mozilla 1.7a and Thunderbird 0.5. Marking FIXED.

Reopened to fix resolution. Christian Schmidt, in the future please use "WorksForMe" instead of "Fixed" unless you can point to a specific patch that addressed the problem.

Works also for me with Mozilla 1.6...
