Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.go somewhere like www.ml.org 2.double-click in the URL bar 3. Actual Results: Only the word that was double-clicked was selected. Expected Results: The entire URL should be selected.
Why would you want to double-click the URL bar to mark the URL completely when a single-click is enough?
This was a purposeful change. Either single or triple click will select the whole thing. Or you can set the hidden pref to change the behavior.

This falls somewhere between invalid, and a dupe of another bug. In sum, the behavior was meant to be changed in this way. If the clickSelectsAll pref is set, you can single-click in the URL bar to select everything. Double-clicking will now select just a portion, per bug 98546. Other related bugs are: bug 188567 - double-click to the right of text to select everything bug 24651 - have a button to clear the URL bar bug 125172 - related to bug 98546, and fixed by that checkin bug 116441 - mac bug about clickSelectsAll and clicks after the text
