Details

User-Agent: Mozilla/4.74 [en] (X11; U; SunOS 5.8 sun4u) Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.0.0) Gecko/20020623 Debian/1.0.0-0.woody.1 Apparently randomly (no upgrades or installs of new software except for upgrading to newer version of Openoffice, no changes to preferences or mozilla files) between opening mozilla one time and the next, the menus on mozilla (all components) changed to about a 3 inch font, as did all the buttons. Web pages display in normal fonts, except that search buttons and the like may be similarly huge. (Mozilla new install home page for example.) Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.Launch Mozilla 2. 3. Actual Results: Menus are in HUGE fonts. Expected Results: Menus should have been in normal size fonts, not so big that they are all that can be seen on the screen. I tried some different fixes. I purged my personal mozilla configuration (moved my .mozilla folder to .mozillaold) and restarted, to no avail. I similarly tried a complete uninstall (purged completely) of mozilla from my system and reinstalling (both with and without my old .mozilla configuration). This similarly failed. I assume this is therefore likely to be an interaction problem somewhere between mozilla and something else on my system. It may not be an actual bug in mozilla, but I certainly can't figure out the problem on my own, and hope that someone who knows mozilla better can tell me why it would have problems with all text belonging to mozilla (messages, etc.) but not with web pages (excepting search buttons, etc.? (couldn't explore much)), and give me a clue where to look.
The build you use is very old. Please try a new build. If you are running xfstt: Possibly dup of bug 92590. Also possibly dup of bug 104345, fix checked in Nov. 6th. Are you running two fontservers at the same time? (Like Xfree86 modular one in addition to xfs?) Or are you running xfstt? (If so: possibly dup of bug 92590) If yes, perhaps this cures if you comment out the FontDir entry in XF86Config
Reporter: Can you reproduce this bug with a recent build of Mozilla (for example, 1.4rc3)? If so, then please comment again with details. If not, then please resolve this bug as WORKSFORME. Thanks.
Almost 3 months and no response from reporter --> wfm. Please reopen if the problem still exists with a recent build.
