controllers@yahoo.com: Does xinehq.de work for you, or just my test page? It may be that it depends on how much text you have. Removing much text from my test page makes it work for me. xinehq.de seems to be an extreme case. Also, one of my coworkers had it work when he ran it under gdb.

This occurs in both galeon and mozilla. mozilla is built against Gtk2 and Xft.

Chris, are you seeing bug #173204?

Is this an X error or a real crash?

It's usually an XError. Sometimes it looks more like a crash. Sometimes it just freezes. I looked at #173204. Most of those pages didn't crash it, but the first bz2 one did. I just tried on RH80 with the same set of build options and it doesn't crash for any of these bugs.
