This is an IMAP folder, entirely downloaded to my computer. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Open e-mail componenent 2. Select "View" drop down, selecting view with "body contains "ASSIGNED TO: Scott Advani" 3. Get the same set of messages, none of which contain that text. I've tried searching for just "Scott Advani" and just "Advani", with absolutely no difference in the results.
Hm. See: Bug 199689: wants to remove the 'body' criterion from mailviews entirely because it's not guaranteed to work for remote IMAP folders. Bug 67421: wants to implement 'body' for filtering in any IMAP folder Bug 127250: wants to implement 'body' for filtering in a localstore IMAP folder ("filtering" being distinct from "mailview")

Summary: mail view based on body produces inconsistent results → mail view based on body produces inconsistent results (IMAP local folder)
*** Bug 201393 has been marked as a duplicate of this bug. ***
Scott Advani: while checking into the fix for bug 254474, I did some checking into this problem. What I'm seeing is that, for offline IMAP folders, the messages are not actually downloaded into the offline store until the message is actually viewed. (I also saw a case where the message was downloaded subsequent to a File|Offline|Sync Now command, but that behavior was a little confusing; I'll need to test it more.) I'm not sure whether this is or is not the intended behavior. Anyway: once a message has been downloaded to the store, I can consistently get the MailView on the body to work correctly. What is your status with this bug?
This behaves about the same as before. I say about the same because I get crashes if I use the drop-down too much. I've been submitting talkbacks.
