Composer creates HTML documents with long tags wrapped around at line end. This
results in tags that are on two lines. It is perfectly valid HTML but makes it
hard to read and tge PHP function strip_tags() i sunable to handle these two
line tags.

Summary: composer wraps long tags → composer wraps long tags

This is mentioned as one of the problems of "Retain Formatting" not retaining
formatting; see Bug 174361, as well as bug 176866, bug 97278. My test case
there includes a long tag that gets reformatted:

Using the example in comment #2, this is a dup of Bug #25141.

I believe this bug has nothing to do with Bug 25141; sorry for the thrashing
about.
Robert Sander, which tags are you referring to, and which preference have you
selected for Composer: Retain Formatting, or Reformat?
I have seen that long <a> and <meta> tags split onto multiple lines if Reformat
is selected. I don't think this is necessarily a bug, as Reformat means just
that.
Multi-line <!DOCTYPE>s and <a> tags in the original source are concatenated
onto a single line if Retain Formatting is selected. I have not seen any
tags split onto multiple lines with this option.
