User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; gl-ES; rv:1.3) Gecko/20030312 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; gl-ES; rv:1.3) Gecko/20030312 After installing a macromedia flash plugin, when loading Mozilla, and in every web I visit, below the State bar there is a wide grey place saying "<menuitem id="menu_inspector" label="&inspectorTaskCmd.label;" ----^ <menuitem position="5" label="&venkman Cmd.label;" --^ This is with Win XP sp1 Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. just loading mozilla 2. 3. Actual Results: half the screen gets grey and shows the message I've explained before Expected Results: Load as usual, without showing me that grey place It's a very nasty bug, you can only see half the screen!
Is this a bug related to gl-ES translation ? Looks like it. Reporter : close mozilla ; go to your profile (see release notes to find it), and delete chrome directory. You will lose your translation, but does the gray bar still appears ?
that's no caused by the plugin

reporter: your localization is busted, either reinstall mozilla without inspector or contact the gl-ES provider and convince them to localize inspector

Summary: when installing the macromedia flash plugin, half the screen is now grey! → gl-ES localization doesn't include inspector support
I cannot find anything related to "inspector" in the original langenus.xpi file for Mozilla 1.3 . Where is it?
I've had this problem too, under Win98 SE with Moz 1.3.1. I think the build number is 20030425. If I open the window for the first time, do any (even no) amount of browsing, then close the window - Moz is still loaded as I use Quick Launch - then open a new window and there is that ugly text. The grey area isn't as much as half the screen, but then I've got a resolution of 1280x960. It takes up about 225 pixels vertically. It can be worked around by closing Moz from the system tray and loading it again. I'm using the UK English language pack.
Reason for this issue that Chatzilla, the DOM Inspector and Venkman aren't part of the Galician resp. - see comment #5 of Pete - of the English UK language pack. The en-US locale for these 3 modules isn't in the en-US.jar either, but in chatzilla.jar, inspector resp. venkman.jar. Include them into the Galician resp. UK langpack and the issue will disappear. The best way is to translate them. If you don't want to include them to the language pack you can delete the files chrome.rdf and xul.mfl (linux: xul.mfasl) which are both in the profile folder.
