User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.3) Gecko/20030312 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.3) Gecko/20030312 When you select a folder, only messages are shown that match the current View (Unread, etc.) However, once you interact with those messages, by reading them, forwarding them, etc., the set of displayed messages may no longer conform to the view. For example, if the "Unread" view is selected, and I read a message, that message remains in the view, even though it is no longer "unread". That is expected, but there should be a way to refresh the view to re-filter the messages. I suggest a "Refresh" option on the View menu, with F5 as the shortcut key (on Windows at least). This would behave similarly to the Windows Explorer. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: Workaround: select a different folder, then select original folder again. The folder's view filter is re-applied.
Blocks: mailviews
I suppose "refilter" is a better word, to avoid confusion with refreshing the list of messages from the server. It would also be nice to have a button on the mailviews bar to do it.

Suggest possibly the "get messages" function could be used to refresh this view ?

(In reply to comment #2) > Suggest possibly the "get messages" function could be used to refresh this view ? At the moment, the purpose of Get Msgs is to retrieve any new messages from the server. It's likely that some may wish to refilter the view without doing this.
With the checkin for bug 362741, this should be fixed now. Just select an already applied view again for refresh.
